GENERAL OBJECTIVE
The goal of the ISU degree
program in Restaurant and
Hotel Management is to
prepare the students to
deftly handle culinary and
lodging techniques at the
basic as well as advanced
levels. In order to achieve
this particular goal,
studies cover a wide range
of areas such as gastronomic
products, business
management , languages and
the organization of quality
events in the field. The
program also covers the
administrative and
organizational know how that
any and all tourist services
require in order to form
directors and managers who
can actively promote and
develop a market that today
represents the country's
second leading source of
income.
PROGRAM CHARACTERISTICS
The curriculum is planned so
that the students get the
required knowledge, skills
and attitude within a
coherent, logical and
complementary structure over
a period of 9 semesters.
Each semester is composed of
18 weeks; 2880 hours of
class work with professors
and 2304 hours of
independent work.
The program is structured
into four areas or levels:
General Knowledge Area,
Basic Area, Formative Area,
Specialization Area.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The ISU candidate must
develop analytical thought
with a capacity for
synthesis and observation.
He must be organized with a
high sense of service spirit.
He must have the potential
to develop his creativity
and spatial, verbal and
manual talents which
constitute essential
characteristics.

GRADUATE PROFILE
On completion of the program
at ISU, the Restaurant and
Hotel Management Degree
recipient is a professional
with a solid base of
knowledge, abilities,
attitudes and values with
managerial capabilities.
The graduate will be a
professional who is able to
efficiently and successfully
design, organize and run any
tourist activity related to
the hotel and restaurant
fields.
With a solid base in theory,
methodology and technique,
the graduate will be able to
participate in research
projects effectively. He
will be able to diagnose
specific problems in the
areas of lodging, gastronomy
and tourist services as well
as design and plan
alternatives for their
solution.
He will develop independent
production.
He will work jointly with
teams to achieve objectives
in the tourist industry.
He will have leadership
skills and master at least
two foreign languages.

The graduate of Hotel and
Restaurant Administration
will be a qualified
professional with
entrepreneurial vision. By
making use of his
administrative knowledge, he
will be able to create his
own business and join not
only the hotel industry but
also the tourist and
gastronomic industries as
well.

or teams in the tourist
sector, especially in the
wide range involved in the
